Alan Sklarsky has more than 27 years experience in complex litigation and is a member of the firm. His practice is concentrated in environmental, product liability, toxic tort and pharmaceutical litigation. He has handled numerous ground water contamination cases and argued the precedent-setting case of Bahrle v. Exxon Corp. in the New Jersey Supreme Court [addressing the liability of major oil companies for contamination emanating from company branded stations]. Mr. Sklarsky has recovered extensive environmental clean up costs for clients from third parties; and has dealt with environmental insurance coverage issues and governmental regulatory matters. Mr. Sklarsky has also focused on product and workplace safety, and has successfully litigated many cases on behalf of victims of toxic chemical exposures, defectively designed machinery and unsafe pharmaceutical products. He expanded the law of "vicarious liability" of employers for the conduct of their employees in the landmark case of Carter v. Reynolds in the New Jersey Supreme Court.

Mr. Sklarsky received his law degree from the Rutgers School of Law, Camden, New Jersey in 1978. He served as the judicial law clerk for a federal District Judge, the Hon. Mitchell H. Cohen, Camden, New Jersey (1978-1979). He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. Before joining Williams Cuker Berezofsky in 2003, Mr. Sklarsky practiced with Tomar, O'Brien, Kaplan & Graziano and served as a managing director from 2000 to 2003. He is a member of the American Association of Justice, the Toxic, Environmental & Pharmaceutical Section of the American Association of Justice, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Environmental Law Section and the Product Liability and Toxic Tort Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and the Camden County Bar Association.
