Cancer Victims exposed to Vinyl Chloride Seek Compensation Lewis vs. Airco, Inc.

For many years, workers at the Pantasote Plant in Passaic, New Jersey were exposed to dangerous levels of vinyl chloride, a deadly carcinogen, while their employer and the vinyl chloride industry concealed its hazards. This conspiracy of silence was shattered when litigation revealed how these chemical companies deliberately and willfully hid the truth about the dangers of vinyl chloride.

The family of a deceased worker at the Pantasote Plant in Passaic brought a wrongful death action lawsuit against these chemical companies.

In a landmark decision, Judge Winard of Essex County ruled that the conspiring chemical companies could be held responsible for the injuries suffered by these workers even though their products did not directly contact the workers. The court held that, by conspiring together, these companies aided and abetted each other and all should be held responsible for the injuries caused by vinyl chloride.
