Blaine, et al. v. IBM

Blaine, et al. v. IBM is the first of several cases filed against the giant computer company in Broome County, New York. Nearly 1,000 plaintiffs have alleged that vapors emanating from groundwater contaminated by IBM with trichloroethylene have invaded more than 400 homes in the Village of Endicott, IBM’s home and former site of its largest manufacturing facility. Plaintiffs claim damages for their homes’ loss of value, the violation of their right to enjoy their properties, and a variety of serious illnesses, including cancer. Williams Cuker Berezofsky is part of an alliance of several firms representing the plaintiffs.
