Jury Awards $78.7 Million Dollars in Hormone Replacement Therapy Litigation

On October 26, 2009 a Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas jury awarded Connie Barton a total of $78.7 million dollars finding that her use of Prempro, a hormone replacement drug manufactured by Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, caused her breast cancer. The jury awarded 3.7 million dollars in compensatory damages and 75 million dollars in punitive damages.
