After months of rumbling about potential lawsuits against the military over local drinking water contamination, a Philadelphia law firm became the first to take action Tuesday.
Attorneys with Williams Cuker Berezofsky, a Center City environmental law firm, filed a complaint in Montgomery County Court against the Navy on behalf of the Giovanni family, of Warrington. The family alleges they were exposed to dangerous amounts of unregulated chemicals perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) in their drinking water due to the use of firefighting foams on a nearby military base.
The complaint states that the family is seeking: a health assessment, including blood testing, for the family and other area residents affected by water contamination; continued medical monitoring for the family; and attorneys’ fees and “any other relief that the Court deems just.” Read More…Category:
