Rezulin (troglitazone) is a prescription drug, approved by the FDA in early 1997, that was used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. The drug was intended to help diabetics utilize insulin in the bloodstream.

After hundreds of reported deaths and many more cases of severe liver damage associated with using of the drug, most requiring surgery to repair the damage, the FDA asked that the drug be withdrawn from the market. The recall occurred in May of 2000.

Williams Cuker Berezofsky successfully litagated, and resolved hundreds of Rezulin cases.
